AAPD Applauds Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Advancement Out of the Judiciary Committee, Urges Swift Senate Confirmation

Washington, D.C. – Today Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has been discharged from the Senate Judiciary Committee and was voted to move onward toward the full Senate vote. The American Association of People with Disabilities’ President and CEO, Maria Town, issued the following statement:

“AAPD celebrates Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson being discharged out of the Senate Judiciary Committee. With this, she is even closer to becoming a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. We strongly encourage the full Senate vote to confirm Judge Jackson swiftly and fairly, and for this vote to receive bipartisan support. Judge Jackson’s superb qualifications, commitment to disability and civil rights, and dedication to equity for all Americans merit such a vote.”
